Rob is a Sydney based lawyer with over 40 years of legal experience and 35 years of running his own practice McCourts. Over the last few years Rob has travelled extensively in Portugal and has become a passionate advocate of the opportunities for Portugal in the Australian market and in particular in tourism, the sale of Portuguese real estate and the sale of a range of Portuguese goods from textiles, homewares, shoes, wine and a range of other goods and services that Portugal can produce cost effectively and with high quality. Rob is the President of the Portuguese Australian Chamber of Commerce.

Francisco is the Treasurer of the Portuguese Australian Chamber of Commerce and holds a Bachelor in Management and a  Master in Business Administration.



I am the Head Research Manager at the Export Council of Australia, where I conceptualise and lead research efforts into identifying new market opportunity for Australian businesses. 
I am a keen observer of international events and I am involved in a number of regional initiatives to boost engagement with and between emerging markets. 
My experience spans several countries across four continents, in industries ranging from infrastructure and aviation to corporate banking. 
I research, write, speak, travel and network. I engage in consulting projects and lecture intermittently on areas of interest – namely international relations, trade and political risk.


Ana Barros is an interior designer with more than 20 years of residential industry experience. During this time, Ana has worked alongside her husband, engineer Fred Barros. Together, they have built and designed some of Sydney’s most exclusive and impressive high-end homes in the most sought-after suburbs of Sydney, including the lower North Shore, Northern Beaches, and the Eastern Suburbs. They have built an extensive portfolio of work.


Philip has practised exclusively in the field of intellectual property for over 20 years. Before joining Halfords IP, Philip had run his own successful patent attorney firm and, prior to that, had been a founding partner of a patent attorney practice within one of Australia’s leading commercial law firms.


Over 18 years experience in the stevedoring industry with QUBE in its various forms. An accountant, Michael was brought into the P&O international business in 1996 to set up the businesses accounting team, procedures and accounting protocols. As Director for the Ports business Michael is responsible for setting the strategy and direction of the business across the 28 facilities in Australia. How it will continue to service it's existing market as well as diversify and expand.


Mark Phibbs is an Australian IT industry Executive with more than 30 years international experience with brands such as Adobe, Microsoft and IBM. Mark is passionate about Portugal and is a regular visitor to Lisbon. Mark wants to use his skills and connections to assist in increasing economic links between Portugal and Australia.
